Samsung Z3 smartphone with Tizen OS launched in India for Rs 8490

Samsung Z3 has been officially launched in India. It is the latest smartphone in the Z series that runs on Samsung’s in-house OS called Tizen OS. Lets check out the specifications of the smartphone.

Samsung Z3 Specifications

The Samsung Z3 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display that is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor. It has 1 GB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on the in-house Tizen OS 2.3 out of the box.

The Z3 comes with a 8 megapixel primary rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and 120-degree wide selfie mode for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 137 grams. It supports Dual SIM, comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio. It comes with the Ultra Data Saving Mode that was first announced with the Galaxy J2. This mode promises up to 40% savings in data across all the content and apps. Samsung’s India R&D engineers have developed My Galaxy, Mix Radio, Ultra Data and Power Saving modes, Special Days UX and Enhanced Messaging features that are specific to Indian consumers.

Samsung Z3 comes pre-loaded with a highly personalised music streaming experience. With integration of Mix Radio on Z3, consumers will have access to thousands of curated mixes from a catalogue of over 30 million songs. This includes extensive local catalogue of 12 Indian languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Bangla, Odiya and Marathi. Z3 users would not only have an option of streaming music from these languages but also to take music offline keeping them entertained at all times. It comes with free lifetime subscription.

My Galaxy is a new and unique consumer engagement platform, which offers consumers differentiated value added services. These range from personalized offers, an exclusive music service, continuous value on extensively used categories like recharge, travel, movies, fashion etc to post purchase care and assistance. Samsung has tied up with brands such as Amazon, Paytm, BookMyShow, and Pizza Hut among others for consumers to enjoy these services through an integrated platform and to discover new and amazing things every day. It also provides post purchase assistance by enabling location-based discovery of service and store locators, in addition to enabling consumers to track their service requests anytime anywhere. Samsung Z3 will thus extend to consumers the most rewarding smartphone experience with My Galaxy platform. The app can be downloaded from the Tizen Store or Google Play.

The Samsung Z3 includes 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,600 mAh battery under the hood.

The Samsung Z3 is available in Black, Silver and Gold color variants and has been priced at Rs 8,490 in India. It goes on sale exclusively (online) on Snapdeal and across the offline channels starting from October 21. Vodafone consumers will get 1GB of free data per month for 2 months with the purchase of this handset.
